Mikki Owens was born and raised in the hills of West Virginia. Although she was raised in church, she never had a personal experience with the Lord until she was a sophomore in high school. One night while she was attending a revival with some of her friends she received a touch from God that has stayed with her for over 14 years.

Mikki has always been very active in her local church for many years. Even as a youth she served faithfully in Children’s Ministry, Women’s Ministry, the choir and the praise team. In her later years as an adult she was blessed to be able to travel with T.D. Jakes Ministries as a volunteer before their move to Dallas in 1996.

Early in 2002 Mikki received a vision from God to publish a magazine. Unfamiliar with any of the “ins” and “outs” of the publishing business, she said “yes” to God when He began to speak the vision of Christian Business Today down in her spirit. Since these were truly unfamiliar territories to her, she relied and still relies solely on the leading of the Lord for daily guidance, wisdom and direction.

In August 2002 the first edition of Christian Business Today was unveiled in her local hometown at the Multi-Fest held in Charleston, West Virginia. It was approximately 20 pages in length with four pages in color and the rest in black and white and only found in West Virginia. Five years later the magazine is now produced in full color and has subscribers in 18 states nationwide with their website being accessed by people in over 20 different countries.

Along with CBT Magazine, Mikki has had the privilege and honor of being an adoptive and foster mother to many children throughout the last seven years.

In addition to her other responsibilities, what she enjoys most is giving praise to God in song as an anointed psalmist and song writer.
